I am living in a foreign country and my oldest has just started grade one this year. He is learning the culture and language of this country as well as social skills he needs, but he’s getting no idea of his own parents culture. I’m looking for a website that has some info on how to teach elementary English, western culture and the like. Also, some ideas for a model curriculum for elementary school students (Ex. what he should know by grade 2 etc.) or sites/books I get access would be greatly appreciated.

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009I’m curious about this because I want to teach elementary and even with all the fieldwork and student teaching I’ve done in college I still wonder if at the end of the day when all the kids have gone home, is that the end of the day for the teachers as well? Or does the principal expect you to volunteer for after school programs, do you stay in your room and do lesson planning?
