Look at the high school today, there’s crazy people everywhere, stupid dramas, bullies everywhere, drugs, weapon, sex, and gangs. The teacher are immature as well, they don’t want to be here, they just want to get paid. Sure you get to socialize, but home school kids can socialize to different age group, race and religion, plus the so called geeks get beat up, when they get child(ren) do you think public school is wonderful. Who think public school is wonderful is a complete idiot, why do students drop out of school if public school is so wonderful. It does not prepared you for the REAL WORLD, Parents do us a favor and home school your chlid(ren). If I have kids, I will homeschool them, I don’t want my kids to be with some stranger, my sister got shot at her school, I have to go to the hospital, do you now tell your children how wonderful public school is.

I think your underlying point is a valid. Public school certainly has a lot of short comings. This, for the most part is the fault of the Teachers Union. They try… but the unfortunate result of their socialized management are the many of problems you reference. (All the problems you mention ((and more)), exist. But I think you’re exaggerating a bit.
The responsibility for problems within the public school system rest at the feet of the teachers and their union.
If educators would support a voucher system that would give parents a choice between a public or private school, they’d have competition to improve. THIS… they cannot allow. Competition would force them to demonstrate successful results with test scores, prove competency of teachers, and force them to dismiss incompetent teachers.
Post Script: From reading your post I would guess you’re another product of the public school system. Your points are largely true, but your writing skills need a little tweaking. I’d suggest you improve your own performance before claiming your system is better.

Not all schools are like that….thats just some of the really bad ones….if your gonna home school how do you pay to survive on your daily stuff you actually need?

I don’t know what public school is like in America. But in England, alot of them are excellent.
Fair enough, I have never been homeschooled, but I have been to both a private school, and a public school. The private school was far too sheltered for me, let alone home schooling. I’m sorry if your sister was shot, but don’t think all schools are like that.
I go to public school, I have made the most amazing friends I could have dreamed, and I am predicted excellent grades. Yes, there are rough people who drop out and are up to no good, but there is no point us being sheltered from them is there, cos we will only have to deal with them later in life!

It’s sure easy for you to say but some parents have to go to work and feed their family!! They didn’t have the time and the money to educate their own children. Also, there are parents who doesn’t know a thing so how can they teach their kids. There are problems in public schools, but it’s better to have them than none. If there’s no public schools, then it would be like the past where only the rich gets an education. You should learn your history before making comments like these.
